Inter-Government Softball schedule rolled out

With the regular season winding down and the playoffs on the way, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs has announced the schedule for the final week and a half of Inter-Government Softball events.

Beginning this morning at 9am, there will be a mandatory meeting for all Inter-Government softball league managers and coaches for both the men’s and women’s divisions in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

On Thursday, June 3, the CPA team will face the winner of the DCCA –Team No Zone match up from last night at 6pm. It’s the women’s turn at 7pm, as the Governor’s Office takes on DCCA, followed by the men’s playoff at 8pm. Game 2 between four and five will be the final event of the week.

The following Tuesday, June 8, Game 3 of the men’s playoff gets underway as the second place team takes on the seventh place team in a 6pm start. The women lace ‘em up at 7pm in game 11, as the winner of game between the Governor’s Office and the loser of the Finance and PSS showdown, go head-to-head. At 8pm, the men’s first and eighth place teams do battle, while the third and sixth place teams hit the field at 9pm.

If you’ve made it this far, Thursday night, June 10 will feature the final games before the men’s finals and the women’s championships. All of the action begins when the winners of games one and two duke it out at 6pm. The women play for all of the marbles at 7pm, and 9pm if necessary. At 8pm the winner of game three and four will vie for the chance to play for the championship the following day, Friday, June 11. The first game of the men’s championship will be played at 6pm. The second game of the final will follow at 7pm. If it is needed, a third game will be played at 8pm.

There will be an awards banquet following the men’s championship and each team is required to bring a food dish, two cases of beer, one case of water and one case of soft drinks. Teams are to confirm their food dish with Rose Pangelinan by calling 664-2294.
