FIBA Oceania has implemented new rules this month, according to BANMI board member and Level II coach and referee Tony Rogolifoi.

In a list given to media outlets yesterday, FIBA Oceania applied six new rules changes beginning at the start of the current month. They are the following:

1. Player substitutions is allowed for both teams after a violation;

2. Only 12 players per team are allowed to play in each game;

3. Two unsportsmanlike fouls of one player will result in a disqualification of that player;

4. When a player falls down to fake a charging foul he will receive a technical foul;

5. Technical fouls will be sanctioned with two free throws followed by ball possession; and

6. Two-digit numbers can used on all game uniforms for national competitions (1-99), but FIBA competitions only numbers from 4-15 will be used.
