While we can say “thank you” any day, there’s nothing like marking one particular day each year to appreciate and just be grateful for life’s goodness.

At Hyatt Regency Hotel Saipan, Thanksgiving is celebrated with more than just words; it is no less than a celebration of life itself and an acknowledgment that it is a gift.

“It’s a time of the year when you look back and count your blessings. In whatever situation you’re in, there’s something to celebrate about. It’s a special day so we’re here, more than willing to accommodate individuals to celebrate this special day with their loved ones, friends, and colleagues,” said Hyatt food and beverage director Sam Cheng.

He said Hyatt’s restaurants, especially Giovanni’s and Kili Café and Terrace, have planned a special Thanksgiving treat for guests.

On Nov. 25, Hyatt will hold its big Thanksgiving brunch buffet at Kili, extending the feast right up to Giovanni’s Restaurant.

Kili’s manager Shekhar Das said the restaurant offers all the traditional Thanksgiving food items.

“Aside from that, we’ll have all other items that we offer during Sunday brunch at Giovanni’s like the live station and cold station where you find fresh seafood items, sushi, etc.,” said Das.

The concept is Sunday brunch, plus “Thanksgiving bounty,” he said.

Thanksgiving brunch is offered at $30 per guest.

For dinner, Kili will serve a special roasted turkey in the buffet.

F&B assistant director Daryl Thong said guests will have a choice of a Thanksgiving dinner at Hyatt: a light, homey dinner at Kili or a quiet, romantic moment at Giovanni’s.

“If you want to have a nice, quiet dinner, Giovanni’s is for you. If you enjoy a more casual time with family and friends, Kili is a good choice. Anywhere you go, we’d try our best to make it a wonderful time for you,” he said.

Giovanni’s Thanksgiving menu includes a main course of turkey “ballotine” with Giblet Gravy and Porcini-Italiana Sausage Bread Stuffing or Asian Marinated Roast Loin of Pork with Honey-Cinnamon Spiced Apples.

Meantime, Cheng said that Hyatt intends to make available a special kind of French wine Beaujolais Nouveau on Thanksgiving Day. He said it is “the first harvest wine” from France.

“It’s the young wine. The taste is light and is easy to drink. It’s usually served chilled. We’re hoping to have it by next week,” he said.

Another new beverage item available at Hyatt is its draft beer from Australia.

“Draft beer is very popular especially among our Japanese guests. Whenever they come, they ask us for draft beer. Finally it’s here,” said Cheng. He said draft beer is served upon order.

Hyatt offers two kinds of draft beer: Foster beer, which tastes light, and Victoria Bitter, which suits the European taste.

Cheng said guests can also avail themselves of “bottomless” selected beer during theme nights at Kili. The restaurant offers “drink-all-you-can” Budweiser on Monday and Friday nights; Miller on Wednesday and Thursday nights, Asahi on Saturdays and Sundays, and French wine on Tuesdays.

Meanwhile, Cheng invites the public to come on Nov. 27, Saturday, at 5:30pm for the lighting of Hyatt’s giant Christmas tree.

“It’s an annual event and we’re very excited everytime we do it because it signals the start of Christmas,” Cheng said.
