The Attorney General’s Office has filed criminal charges against three persons who allegedly ganged up on a woman, including one who was armed with a wood.

The trio allegedly assaulted the victim on Saipan last Sept. 18, based on the criminal information filed with the Superior Court on Monday.

The information identified the three defendants as Juan Ma, 22, of As Lito; Huang Rumei, 30, and Xiao Jie Sun, 20, who are both from Garapan.

CNMI chief prosecutor David Hutton charged Xiao with assault with a dangerous weapon for allegedly carrying a piece of wood during the assault.

Hutton also charged Xiao and the two other defendants with assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and riot.
