70-year-old man found dead on Tinian

A 70-year-old man was found dead early yesterday morning on Tinian, prompting the Department of Public Safety to respond and investigate.

DPS public information officer PO2 Eric F. David disclosed yesterday that according to police report, an unknown male called the Tinian DPS branch at about 6:14am reporting a “sick call” at the Marine Stevedore compound.

Police and Emergency Medical Service personnel responded to the scene and were directed to the second floor of the building, where they found a male lying motionless on his bed in a fetal position. The man had no pulse and was not breathing.

The man was immediately transported to the Tinian Health Center where a doctor pronounced him dead.

“Tinian police detective M. Masga investigated the scene and found out that there was no foul play involved, and that the male victim died of natural cause,” David said.

The identity of the person was not disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
