MVA launches Chinese website for the CNMI
The Marianas Visitors Authority officially launched on Jan. 18 its Chinese website, www.mymarianas.com.cn in Hong Kong and mainland China in advance of the World Travel Fair that was held in Shanghai on Jan 20-23.
This launch closely followed the granting of Authorized Destination Status to the Commonwealth on Dec. 30, 2004, by the China National Tourism Administration.
The site has been launched as part of an aggressive marketing communications campaign entitled See My Marianas. The site, mirrored after the award winning English website, www.mymarianas.com, was designed with input from a survey conducted among Chinese travelers in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing and Hong Kong.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this service to our valued Chinese travelers. This website offers a platform for the Chinese to communicate with the MVA and it provides them with extensive, timely information on the tropical paradise of the CNMI,” said MVA managing director Vicky Benavente. “It is a window to the Northern Mariana Islands for Chinese tourists where they can find out what the islands have to offer, including the magnificent beaches and crystal clear blue waters, lively night life, shopping, a wide range of ethnic restaurants and a multitude of outdoor activities.”
The new MVA Chinese website highlights the Northern Marianas’ many cultural and historical attractions, recreational activities, world-class golf courses, luxury hotels and homey island inns, restaurants, shopping centers and the CNMI’s spectacular scenery, ranging from colorful underwater reef life to lush, bird-filled tropical jungles.
