Deadlines for Language Policy Commission contests extended
The Chamorro Carolinian Language Policy Commission of the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs has extended the deadline for its Chamorro and Carolinian essay contest to today, Feb. 23.
The deadline for the Chamorro and Carolinian jingle contests has also been extended to March 1, 2005. Contest awards have also been rescheduled to March 3, 2005, 6pm at the Garapan Street Market.
Submissions must be made by 4:30pm for each respective days to the Chamorro Carolinian Language Policy Commission, 1346 Ascencion Ct., Capitol Hill. For contest details, contact the Commission at 670-664-5321/6/7.
ASVAB test set this weekend
The U.S. Army Reserve will be administering the Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery examinations, or ASVAB, this coming week.
Individuals 17-34 years of age, citizens of the United States, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau or have an I-551 (permanent resident) are urged to take the exam.
The ASVAB test will be administered on Feb. 26, Saturday, 8:30am and 1:30pm, at the U.S. Army Reserve Center.

S&NISWCD meeting set
The Saipan & Northern Islands Soil and Water Conservation District would like to inform the general public of their monthly meeting on March 1, 2005 at 1:30 pm at the Natural Resources Conservation Service Office.

Marianas March Against Cancer captains’ meeting set
The 2005 Marianas March Against Cancer Committee is calling a meeting for all team captains for t
he March Against Cancer event that will take place later in May.
The meeting for team captains will be at 5:30pm on March 17, 2005 at the Charley’s Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club.
The MMAC committee is asking individuals, organizations, schools, and businesses to become a part of this year’s March Against Cancer by forming a team and participating in this important event.
All team captains and other interested individuals are asked to attend the team captain meeting to learn more about the event.
The Marianas March Against Cancer event is the Common-wealth’s largest fundraiser in the fight against cancer. Groups wanting to register their team or anyone needing more information may email Reyna Hudson at jianhudson@hotmail.com.
