Easter Sunday would be more than just egg hunting as Pacific Islands Club resort goes all out to create a festive reunion of families and friends to mark the end of Lent.

PIC food and beverage director Steve Balakrishna said that the club will celebrate Easter with a series of activities by the water park, topped by a wider array at its buffet that is especially enhanced for the season.

The whole day fanfare of food and water fun will start from 10am.

Balakrishna said the games that they have prepared would surely be an adventure to guests and residents alike. The first game would be the “Shave your rabbit race” by the shark pool. Whipped cream would be spread all over a balloon, to be scraped away using only a shaver.

At 11am there would be an egg decoration contest at the information center.

Dennis Tababa, PIC activities manager, said that if you are familiar with the Hash Runs on the island, PIC will have its own Easter version of the run called “Find the Bunny” hash run at the PIC sports field.

He said Easter would never be complete without the traditional Easter egg hunt race at 3pm, to be followed by sand egg making at the beach. Tababa said that, instead of making sandcastles, participants would have to create sand eggs as fast and as beautifully sculptured as possible.

“So every hour there would be different activities with prizes as giveaway,” Tababa said.

He said the activities will be open to the water park and in-house guests who avail themselves of the promo.

At 9pm the resort will stage a musical entertainment for the guest for free. Nan Intharaluk, PIC’s entertainment manager, said the Clubmate show will showcase PIC’s very own band in a presentation that will be a fitting end to the Easter merriment.

To top it all, Balakrishna said the club would be giving a massive 50-percent discount on all beverages prepared at the Pool Bar and Buoy Bar from 2pm to 6pm.

As for this Sunday’s buffet menu, executive chef Robert Stern said this year’s offering has been expanded, with numerous stations and delectable dishes for guests to choose from. Stern promises a fantastic gastronomical experience for everyone.

Balakrishna said PIC is doing this for everyone—for children to have fun and for the parents to relax while enjoying a sumptuous lunch and dinner.

“It would truly be a stress-free type of day,” he said.

Brunch-only rates, which do not include participation in the activities, would be $25 for adults and $12.50 for children ages four to 11 years old. Residents will get a 20-percent discount on adult rates. Brunch plus Water Park use is only $30 for adults and $25 for children, and will include all the fun activities mentioned above.
