The Great Tinian Cliff Fishing Derby will make a reappearance on three consecutive days this coming April.

Due to popular demand from fishing enthusiasts, this year’s event promises a bigger and more exciting tournament with preparations underway, opening additional derby sites to accommodate, reunite and rehash fishing tales from veteran anglers as well as welcome newcomers into this beloved sport.

The Great Tinian Cliff Fishing Derby is set for April 8, 9, and 10.

Old site favorites include Puntan Diablo, Fleming Point, South Dump Coke, and the following two derby virgins, Puntan Masalog and Wong.

In line with the Marianas Visitors Authority’s 2005 sports tourism destination campaign, the Tinian Municipal Council as the event’s lead organizer with support from the Tinian Mayor’s Office and local businesses, coveted prizes abound for placements in the winning categories.

Promotional efforts to lure more visitors through events such as this is beginning to generate quite a stir with inquiries from cliff fishing enthusiasts.
