The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will sponsor two tax preparation workshops to help both individuals and businesses understand 2004 tax changes and prepare their tax returns.

On Thursday, April 7, the Chamber will host a workshop on “Individual Tax Preparation.” Staff from the Division of Revenue and Taxation will start the workshop with an overview of the CNMI tax requirements, along with changes in the tax law for 2004. The second part of the workshop will feature tax attorney Alexis Fallon, who will discuss how these changes affect individuals in the CNMI as well as answer questions for participants.

Cost of the workshop is $10 for current Chamber members and $25 for non-members. The tax workshop will be held in the Hibiscus Hall of Saipan World Resort.

The next day, Friday, the Chamber would sponsor a workshop on “Corporate Tax Preparation.”

Staff from the Division of Revenue and Taxation will start the workshop with an overview of the CNMI tax requirements, along with changes in the tax law for 2004. The second part of the workshop will feature David Burger of Burger and Comer CPAs, who will discuss how these changes affect businesses in the CNMI. Burger will also answer general questions about business tax preparation.

Again, cost of the workshop is $10 for current Chamber members and $25 for non-members.

The workshop fee for both days must be paid at the door by cash, check, or credit card. Registration starts at 8:30am on both days.
