The Capital Improvement Project committee of the Board of Education recently submitted a report recommending additional classrooms and playgrounds for the Garapan Head Start, Tinian Head Start, and Rota Head Start

.Authorized last year, Public Law 14-3 earmarks $1.86 million for new classrooms for Head Start schools in Garapan, Tinian and Rota. The budget also included the design and construction of additional classrooms for Kagman Elementary School, and Kagman High School.

Garapan Head Start was provided $147,375 for the construction and the report said the new design is now 30 percent compete. The delay was due to the completion of the boundary survey and the selection of site layout based on the report. Final completion of the design is set on May 30.

The Rota Head Start would construct new classrooms at Sinapalo Elementary School and the layout, according to the report, has already been finalized. The design is almost complete with only 60 percent of the final touches remaining to be finished.

Rota Head Start was given $200,000 for the said project, according to the report.

For Tinian Head Start, the existing classrooms at Building A of Tinian Elementary School would just be renovated based on the new design. The design was completed last March 15.
