While triathletes across the globe have spent months preparing for the swim, mountain bike, and run courses of the 2005 XTERRA Saipan Championship, many will scramble to get ready for this weekend’s race—but in a good way.

The XTERRA Sunset Scramble 5-kilometer and 10km trail runs are all set for this Friday, April 8, for those who just can’t wait for Saturday morning to experience the off-road experience of the extreme challenge. In addition to being a visually stimulating welcome to the jungle runs of Saipan, the Scramble will be a benefit for the Saipan Swim Club—with one-third of every entry fee will go directly to the SSC.

According to the director of marketing for Team Unlimited/XTERRA Trey Garman, organizers are hoping for a huge turnout for the fundraising event. “Let’s get a couple hundred runners down there!” said Garman.

The cost to participate in either the XTERRA Sunset Scramble 5-kilometer or 1-km trail runs is $15, and entrants would receive a T-shirt and light refreshments in addition to the jaunt.

More information about the runs as well as applications for the event will become available later this week.
