CHC has new radiologist
Radiologist Dr. Anthony Dowling has joined the medical staff of the Commonwealth Health Center, according to a media statement from the Department of Public Health.
Dowling comes from Australia, where he received his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1962. In 1974, he completed his four-year diagnostic radiology residency, also at the University of Queensland, beginning a lengthy career in the specialized field of Radiology.
As radiologist, Dowling gained additional recognition and distinction with the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Radiology in 1974, the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiology in the United Kingdom in 1975, and board certification through the American College of Radiology in the United States in 1976.
His extensive career in the field of Radiology has taken him all over the world to places such as England, Spain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, the United States and all over Australia.
DPH said that, during Dowling’s first visit to Saipan in 2003, he spent six months at the CHC providing the CNMI with badly needed radiology services.
“He expressed interest in returning to help us when he was again available and therefore, the Director of Medial Affairs at CHC began recruiting him for another visit. He is happy to return to Saipan and vows to carry on where he left off in 2004 to assist CHC’s medical staff through May 2005,” the statement said.
