CRMO would like to add information to their Geographic Information System maps for all lagoon uses.

Therefore, a public forum will be held next Wednesday April 20, 6pm, in the CRMO conference room on the first floor of the Morgen Building in San Jose. That is across from Oleai Beach Bar and Grill.

CRMO invites all stakeholders, boaters, fishermen, windsurfers, kayakers, swimmers, triathletes, surfers, marine sport business owners, snorkelers, to the forum. If you’re in the water, they want to hear from you.

CRMO will be using recent imagery and their GIS software to map areas identified by the forum participants. The imagery provides recognizable land formations to locate the areas where stakeholders work or play in the water and where boat ramps and channels are located. This information and input from YOU will allow for better decisions about where use corridors and buoys should be placed to ensure safe and mutually beneficial use of the Saipan Lagoon.

The public is encouraged to attend the forum to provide insight, voice concerns, and make suggestions for improving the sustainability of the lagoon.

Written comments can be submitted directly to CRMO by emailing kathy.yuknavage@crm.gov.mp, by mailing PO Box 10007, Saipan, MP 96950; or by Faxing to 664-8315.
