Women’s Classification tourney rolls off May 15
The inaugural Women’s Classification Tournament has been rescheduled to May 15 at the Saipan Bowling Center.
The competition, organized by the Women’s Thursday Night League, was originally set for last month and then reset for April before finally being moved to next month.
“Majority of the women bowlers have asked me to give them a little time, plus they think that having it on a payday weekend is likely to [make the tournament] be more enjoyable,” said Thursday Night League president Lucy S. Deleon Guerrero.
Guerrero said the first-ever Women’s Classification Tournament is being held in celebration of Women’s History Month last March.
The tournament is expected to kick off at 9am and will feature three divisions—A Division, B Division, and C Division.
Players will see action in four-game roll-off with the top three for each division advancing to the playoffs that will determine the divisions’ “Bowler of the Year.”
The women’s bowling officer also said cash prizes await the top three winners for each division, while fourth to fifth placers will go home with in-kind prizes.
The Women’s Affairs Office, Marianas Visitors Authority, Saipan Stevedore, Saipan Shipping, SBC, Jerry Tan, Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach, Saipan Grand Hotel, First Floral Shop, Isabella Gift Shop, and Saipan Photo Lab are sponsoring the event.
