A car that was moving to another lane while approaching an ongoing roadwork at the Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Road spun out of control, making a 180-degree turn and hitting a government pickup truck yesterday morning.

No casualty resulted from the incident. Police immediately responded to the scene of the accident.

Franz Decena, driver of the black Sephia sedan with license plate ABH-874, claimed that another car tailing him as he headed to Dandan caused him to swerve into the opposite lane.

He said he was about to switch to the inner lane upon noticing the roadblock due to an ongoing maintenance work on a waterline by the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. when the car tailing him overtook him, prompting him to step on his brakes.

His car then swerved and made a 180-degree turn to the opposite lanes, where a pickup truck of the Department of Public Works was heading toward San Jose. The sedan hit the pickup truck.

Responding police officer Victor Hocog said no one was injured. (John Ravelo)
