What’s on tap for Tagaman
While over 100 triathletes will plunge into the waters behind the Pacific Islands Club tomorrow morning to kick off the 16th Annual Tagaman Triathlon, none of them will need to set their alarm clocks for 0-dark-30 unless they register with organizers this afternoon.
According to Taga Inc. president Bill Sakovich, all racers can register at the PIC today from noon through to 5pm. Once the competitors are all signed in they can participate in the orientation for the 60-kilometer bicycle course. At 1pm, a bus will leave from the PIC and take the multi-sport enthusiasts along the entire stretch of road that they will encounter atop their two-wheelers tomorrow morning.
They will be able to fortify their knowledge with a run course orientation later that day at the beachside of the PIC at 5:30pm. After a long day of touring Saipan, the racers will be treated to a Carbo-Loading Party at the PIC at 6pm. The cost is included with the registration for the annual endurance challenge.
The big events of the big day begin at 3:30am tomorrow morning, as the triathletes will be able to take care of signing in and receiving their numbers until 5:30am. Within a few minutes of the completion of the final registration, the race gets underway.
Aside from the feeling of accomplishment that the athletes will receive when they cross the finish line, the days of racing will be rewarded with a congratulatory dinner at the PIC at 6pm, where the top finishers will be awarded with the coveted trophies.
