As part of the Military Service Appreciation Month activities, a Special U.S. Armed Forces Day Picnic is being hosted by Gov. Juan N. Babauta and Lt. Gov. Diego T. Benavente on behalf of all CNMI men and women in uniform who served, are still serving, and those who will serve in any branch of the Armed Services.

All military personnel—past, present, and future—from all branches of services are invited to help celebrate Armed Forces Day on May 21, 2005, at the Minachom Atdao Beach Pavillion, from 10am to 3pm.

“We also want to recognize all our sons and daughters who have completed their tour of duty abroad, are here with us on R&R, or will be leaving soon for training and/or deployment,” according to a statement from the Governor’s Office.

Soldiers with the Reserve, National Guard, or Regular Army, Airmen, Marines, Sailors, or Coast Guardsman who will be on the island on May 21 are urged tp contact the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs at 664-2650/1.

On that day, DPS Bureau of Motor Vehicles personnel and other officials will present the various options for the Veterans’ License Plates that will soon be available for all eligible veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Forces residing in the Commonwealth and have vehicles registered in their names.
