The Attorney General’s Office charged a woman with theft for allegedly stealing a baby formula, while three men face criminal charges in separate theft cases at the Superior Court, including one who allegedly stole betel nut from a store on Valentine’s Day.

Thirty-six-year-old Gui Hua Li allegedly took a $32 worth of baby formula from the Joeten Hafa Adai Shopping Center last May 8.

CNMI chief prosecutor Jeffrey Moots lodged a count of theft against Gui. The charging document did not specify if the milk formula was intended for the defendant’s child or another.

In other cases, Moots charged Ken Kintar Jessy, a 36-year-old China Town resident, with theft, for allegedly stealing a mountain bike from one Hari B. Bhujel on Saipan last Feb. 19.

Moots also lodged a theft count against Leeroy Santos, an 18-year-old resident of Capitol Hill, who allegedly took some $1,140 in cash by using the automated teller machine card of one Dennis Teregeyo.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Pedro Kakuse of Dandan faces criminal charges for allegedly stealing merchandise from the Diving Fish Mart owned by one Anthony Cruz Ayuyu. Kakuse allegedly took some 22 cartons of cigarette, drinks, betel nut, and $50 cash on Valentine’s Day.

Moots charged Kakuse with theft, criminal mischief and burglary.
