You can now officially call him Dr. Miguel Sablan Demapan.

In an auspicious occasion on Sunday, May 29, at the University of Guam Field House, CNMI Supreme Court Chief Justice Miguel S. Demapan was conferred an honorary doctoral degree in Humane Letters by the University of Guam.

The event was witnessed by family and friends and the thousands of people who also came to watch their sons and daughters graduate from Guam’s premier institution of higher learning.

The award follows that of Demapan’s father-in-law, Jose “JoeTen” Tenorio, who was also conferred an honorary award by the same institution.

“It was indeed a joyous occasion for the entire people of the Marianas and this photojournalist who was privileged to have documented both honored men on their awards. Congratulations,” said Eduardo C. Siguenza.
