Despite a tropical depression that drenched the island, seventeen boys and girls ages five and six went ahead and marched to mark their graduation from Kindergarten class at the Saipan International School.

Parents and guardians did not mind the gloomy weather as they jostled with one another just to document their toddlers’ graduation from Kindergarten.

The graduating Kindergarten class of 2005 was composed of Kimihiko Arai, Patrick Coleman, Aliya Conrad, Samuel Cramer, Kaitlin Daly, Alexander Errett, Emily Jones, Jenna Jones, Yuri Kim, Daniel Lamkin, Yujin Lee, Cassidy Majors, Jee Won Park, Amber Pattillo, Drayton Small, Carter Smith, and Travis Woolsey.

Celia Jang played the processional song entitled Pomp and Circumstance, followed by school headmaster Dr. Dale Jenkins, who welcomed the parents and gave brief opening remarks, congratulating parents and their children for a job well done throughout the year.

The graduating kindergarten class rendered song numbers for their parents and teachers during the ceremony. Parents and family members appeared surprised when portfolios of their children were personally delivered by the graduating students, containing memoirs of the kindergarten students during the school year, which were compiled by faculty and staff of the school.

Jenkins, together with the faculty and staff, presented the diplomas to the children. The children were then called up on stage for the last time to sing the SIS theme song.

The faculty and staff thanked the generosity and assistance of Celia Jang, Patrick Calvo, Mili Saiki, Helen Pacurib, Katherine Ventura, Yan Sook Lim and all of the parents of the graduating class.
