Elloise Lotoc received top honors during Kagman Elementary School’s 5th grade promotion exercises held at the school’s grounds Friday morning.

Together with 105 other graduates, Lotoc marched from the school hallway to the school cafeteria for the KagES commencement exercises. More than 200 parents and relatives packed the venue yesterday just to witness the event.

Aside from the topping her class, Lotoc also got the award for top student in the Carolinian bilingual program.

Lotoc belonged to the class of two-time nominee for “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” Fasefulu Tigilau.

Commissioner on Education Rita H. Inos gave congratulatory remarks to the students.

Keynote speaker was 2004 Miss CNMI World Tracy Del Rosario, who provided an inspirational message to the children when she said that they should all go and get what they want by studying harder to become a better citizen of the CNMI.

Del Rosario finished her associate degree at the Northern Marianas College and is set to leave the islands and pursue higher education.

The graduating class presented a song number, which they wrote for KagES, saying that graduation is not goodbye for them.

Principal Ignacia T. Demapan, together with the guest of honors, presented the diplomas to the children.

The graduating class was also given the chance to thank their parents with a dedication of flowers.

Reverend David Bucher led the commencement invocation and Sam Joyner, a KagES teacher and a recognized musician in the CNMI, was the master of ceremony.
