MIFICPA dares to expand comfort zone and more
The Filipino trait “bahala na,” though often perceived as negative, does actually connote the Filipino tendency to venture into some decisive risks.
This unique and daring risk-taking trait makes a Filipino accountant hardly complacent, but one who craves for new knowledge, willing to explore new avenues of accounting practices. This sums up the theme of the MIFCPA’s upcoming accounting workshop entitled “Beyond Your Comfort Zone.”
The date to remember is Saturday, July 2, 2005, from 8am to noon. The workshop will be held at FWRC Office, Ground Floor of the Nauru Building in Susupe.
Four accountants will present an overview and detailed description of best accounting practices, including current trends and technologies in the following industries:
* Hospitality (Hotels)
* Insurance
* Telecommunications
* Shipping
The workshop will be extra-special because it will unveil the new U.S. CPA Review Class Program that will certainly help our board candidates prepare for the U.S. CPA Board Exam. MIFICPA’s very own U.S. passers will give you helpful tips on how to effectively prepare for the exam. They will also share their expertise by conducting a classroom-type discussion for the hard topics. If you are planning to take the U.S. CPA exam, this is now your chance to join our Review Program.
Finally, details and mechanics of the much-awaited “Accounting Idol” will be presented. To be held quarterly, it is an ingenious mix of accounting quiz and refresher course dashed with fun and suspense. It is open for all members, especially for those who are planning to take the U.S. CPA Board Exam. This is also a chance for those accountants who simply want to keep their toes with regards to accounting principles and problems.
Three top winners will be selected quarterly and they will all compete for the grand championship at the end of the year. Fabulous prizes await the winners.
