The Division of Environmental Quality is advising residents of Kagman, Papago, San Vicente, and Laulau that it will be conducting a survey to gather information for the Laulau Bay Know Your Watershed Project.

The survey begins on July 18, 2005. Basic survey questions will include: What do you think are the three most important environmental problems that affect your area? How is your wastewater (sewage, dishwater, bathwater, laundry, etc.) disposed? What do you like most about living in the Laulau watershed?

The two major goals of this project are to increase public awareness about the Laulau watershed and to encourage community involvement in protecting and maintaining the health of the watershed.

DEQ is coordinating this watershed project funded by the Coral Reef Initiative and Clean Water Act Section 319 grants. For more information, contact Fran Castro, Nonpoint Sourced branch manager at 664-8500.
