Five more MRA points race
A little over a month after battling topnotch riders from the international scene, local motocross enthusiasts will return to the Cowtown Raceway Park in Marpi in a little over a month to resume their push for supremacy in the Marianas Racing Association rankings.
Based on information provided at the MRA website, the motocross body will host its sixth edition of the 2005 monthly points race on Aug. 21, with the first heat unfolding at 10am.
Winners of the most recent points race held on June 26 include Brittney Camacho in the Mini ATV, Edina Cepeda in the Peewee 50, Patty Cepeda in the Peewee 80, Aaron Pangelinan in the 6-65cc, Shane Alvarez in the 80-85cc Fast and Furious Expert, Christian Manzanares in the 80-85cc Novice, Roman Tudela in the 125cc Expert, Glen Pangelinan in the 125cc Novice, Melvin Cepeda in the Veterans class, Christian Camacho in the Big Boy ATV Expert, and Ton Alepuyo in the Big Boy ATV Novice.
The points race resumes on Sept. 4, while another will be held on Oct. 9. The season will then come to a close with points races on Nov. 12 and Dec. 11.
Other events featuring the MRA riders include the Tinian Fiesta Motocross and the 2005 Saipan MX Championships held last July 9 and 10.
The monthly points race enables each biker to compete in his or her class in hopes of earning the most points at the end of the year. Whoever sits on top of the points mountain will be recognized as the No. 1 rider in the respective class.
