Mobil gas stations on Saipan yesterday increased pump prices anew after Shell implemented a similar move Tuesday.

It was not clear as to how much Mobil increased pump prices, but retail stations now sell gasoline by as much as $3.399 per gallon.

Mobil stations now peg local gallon prices at $3.239 and $3.399 for unleaded gasoline and super gasoline at full-serve rate; and $3.069 and $3.239, respectively, at self-serve rate. Diesel sells at $3.239 and $3.289 per gallon for self-serve and full-serve rates.

Mobil Oil Mariana Islands, Inc. released no statement to the Saipan Tribune regarding the new price hike.

Mobil’s new prices matched those of Shell, which increased prices for the 10th time this year last Tuesday. Shell’s price adjustment two days ago became its third such move in August.

Shell stations on Saipan now peg new gallon prices of regular and premium gasoline at $3.179 and $3.339, respectively, at full-serve rate. Their self-serve rate now sells at $3.049 and $3.219 per gallon. The price of diesel increased to $3.289 per gallon at full-serve rate.
