Employees briefed on steps to healthy living
More than 150 Tan Holdings Corp. employees were recently briefed on the five easiest ways to healthy living in the CNMI.
Together with supplements provider Unicity, the wellness seminar drew more than 150 THC employees to the Azucena II room of the Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach Tuesday night.
The speakers were Unicity’s executive vice president Jerry Hasson and independent business owner Evelyn San Gil Burke.
Burke said the five steps to optimal health are based on extensive research and recent studies on health and wellness, fitness and nutrition. The steps are important actions that individuals can do to improve their health, vitality, and quality of life through education, planned activities and nutrition.
She said hydrating the body is the first step as water plays a critical role in the natural metabolic, digestive, and cellular regeneration processes.
The second step would be walking along the beautiful stretches of beaches on Saipan. She said research proves that brisk walking could be more beneficial and more effective for overall health than extended running workouts.
“Walking is the most normal and natural activity that people can do. It requires no equipment and minimal time,” she said.
The third step would be cleansing oneself, she said, since poor digestion has become one of the country’s major health problems. She said cleansing the body of harmful toxins and debris allows the system to fully absorb and utilize the nutrients taken through food and natural supplements.
Nourishing the body is something that everyone enjoys doing, said Burke, as the body craves for nutritious foods with essential vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and disease-fighting phytochemicals that are critical to building and maintaining good health.
Targeting the specific needs of the body is the final step. Burke said everyone over 30 has at least one health concern, which could include weight management, heart health, prostate, immunity and hypertension, among others.
Both speakers are from Unicity, a company known for quality food supplements called Nutraceuticals, a new category in alternative medicine and preventive healthcare.
