The workshop, facilitated by noted lawyer, author and political consultant Howard Willens, will introduce new collections of historical materials relating to the recent political history of the Northern Mariana Islands now available in fully searchable electronic format. These include:

– 136 oral histories from key participants in the status negotiations that led to the Covenant.

– 55,000 pages of federal documents relating to the Covenant negotiations

– Documents relating to the Northern Marianas held in the collections of the 10 post-World War II U.S. Presidents.

– PowerPoint programs on five topics on recent NMI political history.

This workshop is open to the public at no expense. Learn about how you can acquire copies of these collections for community use. For more information contact the Humanities Council at 235-4785. (PR)
