More than ashamed
We go on everyday talking about how bad and unprofessional a certain political candidate is, and how good they are. We are not seeing the real picture here. People of Saipan should not be ashamed of just dirty politics. There is another big issue that we should be ashamed of. It’s our public schools.
I for one am really ashamed of our public schools. Every time you see something about our school in the newspapers they are not good. It is always about how much money we need and other things. We have no books, no space in some classes, and buildings falling apart.
Nothing is being done about it. This is something to be ashamed of. Lacking funds is a real cause to worry. We have no money to buy books but we have money to spend on other things. Funds that are being misspent could be redirected and put to good use. We need money.
For the sake of our future, let’s stop sitting around and let’s do something about this. Right now we are not going in the right direction. Instead of moving forward we are just standing still. Were supposed to be helped but instead of being helped were always being pushed aside. Mismanagement of money is becoming a big issue.
The Public School System is doing all that they can. It’s just that we are not being given enough money. Already 100 support staff are going to be forced to get out of PSS. What’s next?
Teachers? Then what, what are we to do? Where are we to go?
Does anyone really care about the future? If so, then we have some way of showing it. Your future leaders are suffering right now and nothing is being done about it. They are sitting in termite-infested schools, and using really broken down books. If this is some different way of showing support, by making us suffer, then your doing a great job, it’s working out well.
Let’s start using our heads, let’s start thinking and stop sleeping. Everything is about how you want to “to improve our school,” umm, hello! Nothing is improving or did I hear wrong? I wonder…you know who you are.
Teachers and staff of PSS, you all are doing the best that you can to help us. And I thank you for that. But you can only do so much. If there is no money there is no action. You are all hard working. But among the hard working, there is a slacker, or is it slackers? You tell me, I would love to know. Money makes the world go around, but in our world we are barely turning.
Leaders I call on you to help. All we want is a good future. But we need money to do that. If you all stop accusing each other of dirty politics, then you would see. You would see what we as students see. The light at the end of our tunnel is about to go out. It’s up to you to keep that light strong. I didn’t attend school for 11 years just to be kicked and ignored. Let’s do something now!
Survival of the fittest, or is it survival of the richest? If it is, then we all know who is surviving. Who is getting the things that they really need…Not us!
With all these campaign slogans, “Moving Forward”, “Making It Happen”, “Better Times,” and “For the Benefit of All, Not Just a Few.” What do all these things mean? That’s why I call on you all to prove to us. Prove that your slogans are truly what it stands for. I encourage you all to do something before the November gubernatorial elections. Show us. Show us now! Stop making us wait because we can’t wait any longer. Makes the move.
People of the CNMI, I ask you all to keep an eye open. Let’s see if something is really going to be done about our public schools. Now all we can do is just sit back and watch. Watch and see who will really make the move.
Let them (some of them) stop talking and start working. I am sick of hearing “I will do this, I will do that,” let’s stop saying it and let’s start doing it.
