Ten-year-old John Gilbert N. Saludez and seven-year-old Kianah R. Camacho were crowned Little Mr. and Ms. St. Jude 2005 during the coronation held last Friday, Oct. 28, at St. Jude Parish.

Saludez is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert N. Saludez, while Camacho is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney M.S. Camacho.

A total of eight candidates competed for the titles by selling raffle tickets for $1 each. Saludez raised a total of $12,270, while Camacho raised $6,885. Total funds collected equaled to an estimated sum of $43,000. All of the money raised will be used to help St. Jude Parish pay-off some of its renovation expenses.

The winners, together with the six other candidates, participated in the 10am Mass yesterday at St. Jude Parish. The raffle drawing was held later in the afternoon.

The Little Mr. and Ms. St. Jude competition and related events take place annually as part of St. Jude’s fiesta celebrations. (PR)
