Da Terminators continue to dominate
Da Terminators continue to dominate the ongoing Budweiser SBA Open 8-Ball League after putting up an impressive performance Tuesday night.
The team had no trouble getting past the VFW What Doing at Da Place Sports Bar, winning five of the six matches to improve to a league-best 29-7 win-loss record.
Senen Pangelinan kicked off the team’s push by winning the first game and taking the tie-breaker over Elvie Borja, and R.J. Mascarinas followed posting consecutive wins over Jao Bernardo for an early 2-0 lead.
VFW, however, would come back strong in the third match as Diamond Aldan swept Luis Fajardo, but that would be the last charge as Da Terminators’ Frank Pangelinan responded with a victory over Anthony Arriola.
Da Terminators then took the two doubles matches to close the night on a high note.
USSP Fotten Palau, meanwhile, kept pace with Da Terminators and notched win No. 26 after beating the Bud Killaz, 4-2, at Bud’s Bar to remain three games back of the league leaders.
The team won the first three games before suffering consecutive setbacks, but came through in the final doubles competition to leave with the victory.
For their part, the Round Two Hustlers turned back USSP Fotten Gaga and stunned the home team with a 4-2 victory to keep a solid hold on third place with a 22-14 record.
Both teams were knotted at 2-2 before the Hustlers swept the doubles competition for the win.
Meanwhile, the Jewel Night Shooters scored their 12th win of the season with a 4-2 victory over VFW Leaders, taking three straight matches after dropping their first.
The Shooters now sit with a 12-14 card while the Leaders dropped to 7-29.
