Car sales down in November
There were fewer cars sold in November this year than the same month last year.
Statistics from the Commonwealth Auto Dealers Association showed there were 81 cars sold last month, which reflects a 23.58-percent decline compared with 106 sold cars in Nov. 2004.
Overall, there is a 3.86-percent decline in car sales so far this year.
CADA report said there are 1,420 sold cars as of November this year.
During the same period last year, the figure was up at 1,477.
Based on the latest statistics, Microl Corp. sold 31 cars, representing 38.3 percent of the market share.
Joeten Motors sold 30 or 37 percent while Triple J Motors sold 20 cars or 24.7 percent.
Microl recorded a 38-percent decline in sales when compared with the same month last year while Triple J Motors posted a negative 25.9 percent.
Joeten Motors sales, meantime, registered an increase of 3.45 percent when compared to Nov. 2004.
On a year to date basis, Microl Corp. still topped sales with 672 cars sold so far, followed by Joeten Motors with 413, and Triple J Motors with 335.
By model, there are 758 sedan sold so far this year, 321 sports utility vehicles, 233 trucks, and 108 vans.
In terms of car makes, Toyota sold 573 cars, Nissan, 183; Ford and Hyundai, 127 each; Mazda, 117; General Motors/Chevrolet, 99; Mitsubishi, 85; Honda, 60; Kia, 43; Suzuki, 3; and all others, 3.
Microl Corp. sells Toyota and Chevrolet while Joeten Motors sells Nissan, Ford, Honda, and Kia.
Triple J Motors sells Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Suzuki, Subaru, and Mazda.
