Mobil gas stations reduced Saipan’s pump prices by 6 cents per gallon effective yesterday, a day after the company’s sole competitor, Shell, implemented a similar move.

Mobil Oil Mariana Islands, Inc.’s public relations manager, Cecile Bamba-Suda, disclosed this development, citing the easing of product cost in the Singapore region.

“We’re pleased to be able to pass on that savings to consumers,” said Suda, who also urged motorists to maintain their vehicles properly to ensure efficient fuel consumption.

At full-serve gallon rate, Mobil stations now retail unleaded and super unleaded gasoline at $3.099 and $3.259, respectively; self-serve rate pegs gallon prices at $2.929 and $3.099. Full- and self-serve rates for diesel settle at $3.149 and $3.099.
