Woman injured after boyfriend hit her beer
A woman was injured in the face after her boyfriend hit her with the beer can that she was holding, according to court papers.
The woman suffered a cut on the nose and a cut to the right eyelid during the incident, which occurred on Jan. 8, Detective Andrea Ozawa said.
Leoncio T. Iskawa, 41, was arrested for alleged disturbing the peace, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and interfering with a domestic violence report.
Superior Court Associate Judge Juan T. Lizama imposed a $5,000 cash bail for Iskawa’s temporary liberty.
Ozawa said that Jan. 9, the two had an argument and the victim decided to stay at her relative’s house. On Sunday night, the victim returned to their house.
While there, the victim opened a can of beer. As she was drinking, Iskawa allegedly struck the can, causing it to hit her face.
When the victim tried to call the police, the boyfriend broke the telephone line, Ozawa said.
Police arrested the suspect on Monday at a beach site in Garapan.
Ozawa said the woman claimed that it was the third time he assaulted her.
