Man charged for threatening to kill cop
The Attorney General’s Office filed yesterday criminal charges against a man who assaulted a police officer and threatened to kill him and his family.
Jae Yeol Jeong, 35, was charged with assault, and assault and battery. He was summoned to appear and answer the charges in Superior Court on Feb. 20 at 9am.
Chief Prosecutor Jeffrey Moots stated in the information that on Nov. 29, 2005, Jeong “unlawfully offered to kill Police Officer Anthony Diaz and his family.”
Moots also alleged that Jeong struck the officer by “driving his shoulder into the rib cage of Officer Diaz.”
No other details were given.
In another case, the AGO charged a 27-year-old man who refused to leave two poker arcades and resisted arrest.
Johnson Lemuel John was charged with two counts of criminal trespass, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of disturbing the peace.
John was summoned to appear and answer the charges in court on Feb. 20 at 9 a.m.
Moots alleged that on Nov. 19, 2005 and Dec. 3, 2005, John refused to leave GIG Poker and Dollar Poker in Garapan respectively, after having been advised to do so by the employees of the arcades.
The chief prosecutor said the defendant resisted when Police Officer Jerome Bermudes tried to arrest him at GIG Poker.
When Lorenzo Villa Diego Lariza, an employee of Dollar Poker, told him to leave, the defendant cussed loudly and threatened to beat him up and sue him. (Ferdie de la Torre)
