JOETEN-KIYU PUBLIC LIBRARY TO OPEN AT 1PM TODAY
The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will be open today, Jan. 30, at 1pm. Construction and a landscaping project will be taking place in the morning. The library will resume normal hours on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The library apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause to patrons.
SSHS LIST OF UPCOMING EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
Saipan Southern High School would like to inform the students, parents and guardians on the following events for Saipan Southern High School.
Feb. 6, 2006: No classes (professional development days)
Feb. 15, 2006: PTA meeting at 6:30pm at the SSHS Café.
Feb. 16, 2006: Mid Progress report pick up from 4pm to 7pm. Parents will pick up Mid Progress in the respective teacher’s classroom.
Feb. 21-22 and May 5, 2006: Regular school days. There will be classes.
BUMPER2BUMPER AT GIG ON FEB. 1
CNMI motorists will be treated to an evening of fun and entertainment this coming Feb. 1 when GIG Discotheque presents “BUMPER2BUMPER,” a night out for car owners.
Free invites will be given out to the different offices and companies to ensure a big crowd of partygoers.
Saipan’s up-and-coming show band—Grooveline—will take center stage belting out Top 40 favorites and retro hits.
Prizes and souvenir items will be raffled off during the night.

CNMI ASSOCIATION FOR FAMILIES WITH DISABILITIES MEETING RESET
The CNMI Association for Families with Disabilities wishes to inform its members and interested volunteers that the meeting for Jan. 28, has been re-scheduled to Saturday, Feb. 4, at 10am at the Family Hope Center in Dandan. Interested volunteer are welcome to attend.
SMALL CLAIM MATTERS RESET
All small claim matters originally scheduled for Jan. 5, 2006, in Courtroom 220A of the CNMI Superior Court are rescheduled to Feb. 16, 2006. The notice was issued on Dec. 22 by Clerk of Court Bernadita A. Sablan.
PRAXIS SEMINAR ON FEB. 1
A Praxis seminar for high school language arts teachers preparing for the Praxis II English Language and Literature Content Knowledge exam will begin on Feb. 1 at 5pm at Saipan Southern High School Room A-102.
Those who have not attended a previous Praxis seminar are eligible for compensation. Those who previously attended a seminar are still eligible to attend for free. For more information contact Jeff at turbittj@yahoo.com.

Students, beginning 3rd. quarter, Home Room will be your first period teacher everyday. Day B is still your first period teacher from 8:00-8:15. Attendance will be taken, the bulletin will be read, and virtues will be discussed. 1st and 5th periods will begin at 8:20am.
