HANMI Charity Classic returns

Another opportunity to spend a day at the golf course while contributing to various charities within the community is close at hand, as the 5th Annual HANMI Charity Golf Classic Tournament will be held on April 1 at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.
The tournament, which has grown in popularity over the years, will utilize both the west and east courses as organizers expect a large turnout. This time around, organizers are allowing up to 200 golfers to take part in the tournament. The first 200 to pay the full tournament fee will be awarded slots.
Registration is currently ongoing with an early bird tournament fee of $125. The fee, which includes green fee, prizes, and awards banquet, will remain at the mentioned amount until Friday, March 24. The fee increases to $150 after March 24.
Organizers have also indicated that the tournament will get underway at 7:30am.
The tournament features six categories such as Championship Flight, A Flight, B Flight, C Flight, Seniors 50-and-over), and Ladies. Players in the Championship Flight must have 0-5 handicaps, while those in A Flight are 6-10 handicappers. The B Flight are for players with 11-17 handicap while C Flight are for players with handicap above 17.
Aside from the Ladies category, first place winners of the other flights will receive $500 and a trophy; second place finishers receive $300 and a trophy; and third place winners receive $200 and a trophy.
Meanwhile, the female golfer with the lowest gross score will win $500, while the top two female finishers with net scores will receive $300 and $200.
The Calloway system will also apply for all players who do not win in a flight category.
While many players will be focusing on taking home the top prize in their category, many will also have their eyes set at the many hole-in-one opportunities in hopes of winning cash prizes.
Other competitions include most accurate drive, longest drive, and nearest to pin. Players interested in registering for the competitions must pay an additional $25.
