Taitingfong, Pangelinan, Techur are Senior League leaders

Sluggers Herbert Taitingfong of the Hustlers and Jonathan Pangelinan have been the most dominating force at the plate, while ace Marley Techur of the Falcons has had his way on the mound to lead the Senior League statistics as of March 26.

Based on statistics provided by league officials, Taitingfong and Pangelinan are posting identical .667 batting averages after both have gone 4-for-6 to lead the batting category.

Right behind the two is Ol’Aces hitter William Fleming, who has had five hits in eight games for a .625 average. Vicente Concepcion of the Marlins, Jesse Borja and Isaiah Wabol of the Ol’Aces, and Martin Pangelinan of the Hustlers follow with averages of .500 after reaching on three hits in six at bats, while Daren Pua of the Aztecs and Drew Magofna of the Falcons are tied with .429 averages after both have hit safely in three out of seven chances.

Capping the top hitters are Ol’Aces players Nunu Kapileo and Shane Yamada, who both sport .400 averages after going 4-for-10.

Jesus Iguel and Wabol lead the runs department with five while Giovanie Ayuyu followsd with four plate crossings. Daren and Keoni Pua are tied with the league lead in doubles with two, while Fleming and Patrick Togawa lead the triples department with two apiece.

Patrick Lizama, Wabol, Ben Leon Guerrero, and Gerome Mira are tied with a home run apiece, while Anthony Dela Cruz and Leon Guerrero lead the runs batted in category with four apiece.

For his part, Techur and Yamada each sport perfect earned run averages, with Techur pitching in 8.1 innings and Yamada in six innings. Both have given up just two hits.

John Mafnas follows with an ERA of 0.88 after allowing just one run in eight innings, while Iguel (4.24), Nicolas San Nicolas (9.03), and Kevin Babauta (10.55) follow.

San Nicolas leads the league in strikeouts after fanning 19 hitters while Techur is not far behind with 17 strikeouts. Mafnas has also recorded nine strikeouts.
