The Attorney General’s Office yesterday filed charges against a hotel owner and five other persons for various offenses on Saipan and on Tinian.

Jun Sung Kim, 34, president of Elysium Inc. that owns Gold Beach Hotel, was charged with three counts of issuance of bad checks.

Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. said that on March 1, 10, and 20, 2006, Kim issued checks to Seong Hyuk Seo in the amount of $80,000; $80,000; and $70,000.

Warfield said Kim issued the checks knowing that they will not be honored due to insufficiency of funds.

Detective Patrick Earl Maanao stated in his report that Kim owed Seo a total amount of $550,000 when he purchased Gold Beach Hotel from the victim.
