Clinton and the CNMI

Well, it is finally over. The president of the United States just got away with perjury (and so much the worse because it was so bloody blatant). Yeah, right, fellatio is not a sexual act.

What more can be said? Move on, put it all behind us, right?

Wrong. President Clinton’s acquittal still has far reaching consequences for the future of the CNMI. His escape from impeachment only strengthens his hand against us, rendering the federalization beating that much more likely. As Frederick Nietzsche, the great German Philosopher, once declared: “Whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.”

Clinton is stronger–and he is out for blood: for revenge against our friends, the principled Republicans, who had the unmitigated audacity to try to uphold the rule of law at the nation’s highest level.

The CNMI is still reeling from the great Asian economic crisis. With Clinton now free to carry out his dastardly, dirty deeds, we have to worry even more about Washington’s politics (as if slumping Asian economics weren’t already more than enough.)

Our friends, the House Republicans, are on the defensive. By and large, they stood by their sacred beliefs and ignored the sentiments of the polls–Clinton’s whole basis for policy-making. Now they may face the wrath of the deluded American people at the ballot box in the next election. The Left appears to be winning, capturing the hearts and minds of the American public, primarily by exonerating perjury, adultery and obstruction of justice.

Don’t forget. Ken Starr is the evil villain in all of this. He is responsible for Clinton’s seedy actions. Mr. Starr entrapped the president into lying under oath. And that’s all there is to it.

Watch President Clinton. He is going to go after us. He is going to go after our friends in the US Congress (Representative Tom DeLay especially)

This acquittal, this unfathomable failure to impeach, may turn out to be our very undoing. The federal political pressures should only get worse. The heat will be turned up even more. Expect no mercy. Al Stayman will become even more menacing. The danger is clear. George Miller’s antagonism has just been revitalized and renewed.

Brace up, folks. Try to hold up firmly, against all odds, no matter how daunting. The worse may still be yet to come. The situation does not look encouraging. But we must never give up.
