School bomb threat, misuse of public vehicle
Although there was no major examination scheduled last Thursday, Grace Christian Academy had its first share of a bomb threat that led to the immediate evacuation of students.
According to the Department of Public Safety, GCA received a call informing officials that there was a bomb planted in the school.
Students were immediately advised to move to the nearby church while police officers searched the campus. Personnel from the Emergency Management office also helped and no bomb was found, DPS spokesperson Rose Ada said.
She said calls reporting about bomb threats are common. Schools are targets of those calls during term examinations.
Meanwhile, a violation of Public Law 9-37, or misuse of government vehicle was reported last week.
The DPS reported the two-door, red Suburu owned by the Northern Island Mayor’s Office to the Attorney General’s office for violating the law. The vehicle was spotted along the beach road where the police officer saw that a child was at the back seat. Its driver then dropped the child at Oleai Elementary School.
After verifying the ownership of the car, the officer made the formal complaint through a police report.
