Division of Fish and Wildlife personnel yesterday buried a 25-year old green sea turtle, which was found dead between the Saipan and Managaha channel.

A federally-declared endangered specie, the green sea turtle, about four feet in length, was apparently hit by a boat with its shell heavily damaged, according to Marianne Concepcion, public information officer of the Department of Lands and Natural Resources.

Under federal laws, any endangered specie must be buried or incinerated.

Anyone caught killing federally endangered species will be either fined or imprisoned, Concepcion said. To those who have information regarding the dead green sea turtle is asked to call the DFW at 322-9627.
