Your mother is seriously ill, and your brother is with the military halfway across the world. You need to tell your brother, but there is no way to communicate with him other than writing letter, which will take a week or two. It may be too late. Or your brother has passed away and your sister would like to come home to pay last respect as well as to give moral support to the rest of the family, but she will need to get an emergency leave from the military unit she’s with.

The Northern Mariana Islands Chapter of the American Red Cross is here to help you connect with veterans and military members in your family.

Last year your local chapter of the American Red Cross connected families and members of the Armed Forces Services by relaying some 26 emergency messages here in the CNMI. The NMI Chapter can send emergency messages to a family member in the military when death, serious illness, birth of a child, or other critical event makes communication urgent.

Anyone wishing more information about Armed Forces Emergency Services of the American Red Cross may contact NMI Chapter at tel. 234-3459 or stop by at our office at Airport Road.
