PSS to hold 3rd education summit
The Public School System is scheduled to hold an education summit on Sept. 8, the third in a series of conferences aimed at seeking community input into the agency’s efforts to improve the quality of public education.
The summit will be held at Saipan Diamond Hotel.
“Everybody is welcome to attend this forum. Our goal is to hear from the parents what they think about the quality of public education in the Commonwealth,” said Rey Tebuteb, teacher training coordinator for PSS and member of the summit organizing committee.
The first two education conferences were held on Tinian and Rota.
Tebuteb said the major point of discussion at the summit will focus on the survey on public education conducted by PSS.
The survey, which had 1,899 respondents, gave an evaluation of PSS performance in the area of preparing students for global changes, access to technology, instruction, extra-curricular activities, and financial management among many other things.
“We want to know how we’re doing. The participants to the summit will address all concerns raised in the survey,” Tebuteb said. (MCM)
