The Department of Public Safety yesterday asked the public for assistance leading to the arrest of the suspects in the homicide case of a 40-year old Filipino who later died in an assault that occurred more than four months ago.

Cesario P. Valerio was allegedly attacked by three male suspects while he was guarding the Courtney’s Plaza along Beach Road in Chalan Kanoa in the early hours of May 4, 1999.

He sustained deep wounds in the left side of his head and suffered from internal head injury. He was rushed to the Commonwealth Health Center.

Valerio, a contract worker, later died in a hospital in the Philippines.

Police earlier received a tip about the incident through the Crime Stopper Hotline. That office is requesting the caller to contact the officers investigating the case again for additional information.

Crime Stoppers is still offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the individuals involved in the homicide, according to a DPS statement.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 234-7272. Identity of the callers will be kept confidential, DPS said.

Police released cartographic sketches of the suspects, whom they described as between 18 to 22 years old with stocky built.
