Reviving political mudslinging The Issue: The splinter group Reform is employing political mudslinging of the early sixties in the campaign trail. Our View: Trumpeting the group’s message need not turn into a fiesta of venting fits of persona
As Republicans and Democrats discuss specific political planks, the Reform started swinging wildly, turning its political campaign into nothing more than pure venting of personal frustrations. This is really a sad approach as it does nothing but sever once tightly held filial unity.
The general public pines for solid answers to a myriad of local concerns. It is more than capable of discerning who among a parade of candidates can really do the job whether one is a minority or majority. A minority can be a very powerful voice if the representative or senator can stay focused on substantive issues of public interest. It’s the sure way to bring the majority to a rude awakening of its fiduciary responsibilities.
The theme of the Reform Group has focused on re-opening old wounds leading into wild venting of personal frustrations best left unsaid. It also gave the general public a quick glimpse into hypocrisy of some of the fainted warriors who also peddle nothing else but filial disagreements or display of dirty laundry of matters that are best left within the confines of the family clan.
To bring back Lazarus from his grave would seem an acknowledgment that the political maturation process hasn’t descended in these isles. Surprising that the myriad of issues to which the Reform Party could easily turn into credible presentations have taken a back seat in favor of mudslinging. It could have articulated its political planks in order to secure at least the sympathetic group and the undecided. But resorting to personal vendetta or mudslinging has seemingly netted this group a bad case of credibility.
As a result of this approach, there are more misses than hits at the batter’s box or out in the campaign trail. And if per chance it is incapable of winning at least a seat this coming Saturday, then it must contend with itself for it has aggressively wrought its own political demise. Si Yuus Maase`!
