The Association of African and African-American will host this year’s celebration of Kwanzaa at 4:00 p.m. at the Manhoben Center on Sunday, Dec. 1999.

Kwanzaa is an African-American celebration, which focuses on the traditional African values of family, community, responsibility, commerce and self-improvement. Kwanzaa is a time for African-Americans to reaffirm their ties with their ancestors and their culture.

Since it’s founding in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, Kwanzaa has come to be observed by over twenty million people. This will be the third observance of Kwanzaa on Saipan.
