DPS hunts down robbery suspect
Police are tracking down a suspected robber who allegedly assaulted a 31-year-old Chinese woman after stealing her money and other valuables last week in San Jose.
Public Safety officials immediately dispatched police officers following reports of the still aghast victim wandering on the fairway of the Saipan Country Club in Chalan Kiya in the afternoon of Jan. 6.
Preliminary investigations disclosed that the victim was partially dressed and was visibly injured when responding police officers arrived at the country club.
Police reports said the victim accepted a ride near the San Jose Motel from a “local man” to the courthouse earlier in the day. She was, however, taken to a San Jose beach side where she fainted after the suspect assaulted her.
Initial investigations also revealed that the victim, who appeared “unaware of her surrounding”, wandered off onto the fairway where she was found. The victim was treated and transported to the hospital.
She sustained multiple contusions with fractured cheekbone and a laceration on her scalp/forehead.
The suspect carted away with the victim’s I.D.’s, credit card, cellular telephone, jewelry, and cash amounting to $814.00. (ARF)
