Japan-Saipan student exchange program

Representatives from a high school in Kansai, Japan are scheduled to arrive in the island to participate in the exchange program sponsored by NTA Micronesia-MACH Tours Saipan.

The program’s recipients this year are Japan’s Awaji High School and the Marianas High School. Various activities have been set on Feb. 9, 2000 at the Marianas High School campus.

The activities include a Cooking Exchange Program where the visiting Japanese representatives will prepare their native delicacies such as Nikujaga, Gomoku Takikomi Gohan, Dorayaki and Misoshiru.

In turn, the Marianas High School will prepare Chamorro soup, Spanish rice, Chamorro/Spanish chicken, papaya pickles and finamamis.

The exchange program also highlights socialization between the visiting Awaji High School representatives and MHS Japanese Language classes.
