NMC launches logo contest
Northern Marianas College (NMC) would like to inform the general public that it will be having a CNMI-wide Logo Contest.
The purpose of this logo contest is to provide the NMC Board of Regents (BOR) with a new collection of artistic symbols which reflect the dynamic changes and transformation of the local community college since its establishment.
Through the request of the BOR Program Committee, an ad-hoc team was formed and is composed of NMC students, alumni, faculty, and staff members to develop appropriate criteria for the NMC Logo Contest.
This contest will coincide with the upcoming College Month Celebration and the winner will be announced on Charter Day, April 15, 2000.
All individuals interested in participating should submit their entries by following the criteria and procedures:
• Each entry must have a cover sheet attached to each logo drawing submission with the following information on it: contestant’s name, address, contact phone number and/or e-mail address and a legend explaining each icon used in the drawing by defining its significance and special meaning.
• All entries must be in black ink, do not use other colors, and the actual size of the logo drawing should be approximately 6″ x 6″ on a regular 8-1/2″ x 11″ white paper;
• The configuration of the logo drawing is open, and entries may be submitted in circular, square, rectangular or other shapes deemed appropriate by the contestant;
• The contest is open to the general public in the CNMI, from ages 16 years and above, with a maximum of 5 entries allowed per individual; and
• All entries must be submitted to the NMC Development and Alumni Relations Office, located in Building P, Saipan Campus, by noon on Monday, March 27, 2000.
The members of the criteria committee recommends that participating individuals should include some of the following themes as guidelines in designing their respective logo drawing entries: higher-education institution, academic goals, multicultural diversity of NMC, uniqueness of the Marianas, natural environment, technological
advances, and/or community involvement.
The winning entry will be selected by the NMC Board of Regents and the winner will receive a $500.00 cash prize, a special recognition certificate, and a photograph of the presentation in the local newspapers.
All entries submitted during the contest become the property of NMC and may be used at its discretion.
